Frequently asked questions
-
What should we pack for our dog?
Pre-measured food, enough for their stay plus one day (in case of emergency). You can also bring any meal toppers for them, treats, comfy bed they love, or a blanket.
-
Can we bring their toys?
Leave the toys at home! They are more likely than not going to get destroyed while in our care. We cannot guarantee that another dog will not get a hold of it. Some exceptions can be made, but generally speaking, please leave toys at home.
-
Can we arrive outside of our scheduled time?
Our drop offs and pick ups are always scheduled. The time you choose for your reservation is the time we expect you to arrive or depart with your dog. Please respect this, as we have young families that we like to spend time with on the weekends/evenings.
-
Should we have a back up plan?
Absolutely! In rare cases your dog may be struggling more than expected. We do our very best to ensure they're are comfortable and not stressed, however we won’t know how they will react until they are here. Please set up a secondary plan for your dog, just in case.
-
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We cannot guarantee that you can pickup your dog late if your flight is delayed. This is another case where your back up plan comes in handy. Please arrange for your emergency contact to pick up your dog as scheduled.
-
Are you fully fenced?
Yes! We have 6 foot high fencing around our artificial turf and mulch play yards. We do take dogs out of the facility on leashed walks too. If your dog is trained well off leash and has excellent recall, we also do field romps off leash with them.
-
Does my dog have to be vaccinated?
Yes. Requirements: rabies, DHPP, and annual flea, tick, and heart worm preventative. If your dog does’t have all of the required coverage, they can be turned away from The Ridge. We do accept titre tests.
-
Where do they sleep?
It depends on each individual dog. Sometimes a dog requires a little more one on one and therefore comes to the house with us. Othertimes they are confident, happy, and quite okay with sleeping at the daycare. All dogs that come to the house must be kid friendly, 100% potty trained, respectful of elderly dogs, and quiet for the most part.
-
Are there add-on charges?
We don’t believe in charging extra for petting your dog or giving them additional treats or love. Every dog that stays in our care gets the same level of love and appreciation as the next. We’re all-incusive! The only added fee you might find is for late check out or if a bath/blow dry is requested.
-
Do you take intact dogs?
Short answer, yes. If you’d like more information, please reach out. Intact dogs are always case-by-case and must be booked far in advance. We do not board intact females that are in or nearing a heat cycle.
